N2  - Medline indexes all the major biomedical research journals, with good quality subject indexing.  The PubMed version of Medline is updated daily, includes new references within a week of publication, and includes the whole file back to 1966.  It has links from each record to other related records, also to sequence databank entries and to full-text articles (in some cases).  It has only very basic searching facilities though
