In Cops, Buster Keaton attempts to win his sweetheart's hand in marriage by becoming a successful businessman. His exploits climax in a confrontation with an entire police force. In The Blacksmith, a parody of Longfellow's poem, The village blacksmith, Keaton tries his hand at the forge. In The Paleface, Keaton is mistaken by the Indians for an unscrupulous oil-promoter.
